Terminal Ballistics
(Page 4/7)

Regarding to terminal effectiveness, the HDB does not make any compromise at all. Based on the related Barnes X-HP, the HDB is made of 99,9 % copper (plus 0,1 % of oxygen) obtained by electrolyse method. Thanks to the high degree of purity and compression of the raw material my bullet performs exceptionally regularly even under extreme conditions.

Because of the three internal brake-up notches plus the aluminum plug the HDB immediately reacts on impact even at low velocities and light game bodies. The plug acts as a deformation starter. Its material consists of aluminum with a small amount silcium added to give it a ductile character and to avoid corrosion. This combination finally ensures a positively controlled energy transfer suiting to different resistance characteristics of the respective game.
